Code of Conduct
Purpose
The RSF Soccer Club seeks to provide a great soccer experience for its players, parents and coaches. We believe that a quality organization is measured by its conduct and attitude, both on and off the field. We feel that how the game is played is even more important than winning, itself. In pursuit of this goal, we have adopted this Code of Conduct for our players, parents and coaches.

Players
You are a part of a team and a club and your actions reflect on your teammates and the rest of the RSF Soccer Club. You are expected to:

*        Play the game for the game's sake-for the fun of it

*        Treat your coach, teammates and opponents with respect

*        Demonstrate good sportsmanship by never arguing with the referee or linesperson

*        Avoid inappropriate behavior during practices, games, team- or club-sponsored events, and/or tournaments

*        Control your emotions

*        Attend practices and games

*        Attempt to win through your skill, effort and tactics; to be fair always, no matter what the cost

*        Take victory modestly and defeat graciously

*        Adhere to the laws of the game

*        Conform to the rules established by the Club and League

Parents
You are not only a supporter of your child but a role model as well. Your actions reflect upon your child, his/her team, and the Club. You are expected to:

*        Remember that the game is for your child-not for you.

*        Encourage and support your child in meeting his/her responsibilities

*        Set a good example by your conduct and sportsmanship

*        Avoid inappropriate behavior during practices, games, team- or club-sponsored events, and/or tournaments

*        Refrain from directing the play of the game

*        Recognize and praise skillful play by both teams

*        Give positive reinforcement and never yell or ridicule

*        Appreciate the fact that the coach is a volunteer

*        Refrain from arguing with or criticizing a referee or linesperson

*        Conform to the rules established by the Club

Coaches
You are a teacher, leader, and role model. Your attitude and behavior will set the tone for the players and supporters. You are expected to:

*        Ensure that each Recreational player plays at least 50% of the game

*        Set standards for your players' conduct

*        Refrain from arguing with or criticizing the referee or linesperson

*        Praise skillful play by both teams and not ridicule either side

*        Be responsible for safety-never jeopardizing the safety or well being of your players

*        Avoid inappropriate behavior during practices, games, team- or club-sponsored events, and/or tournaments

*        Make a personal commitment to keep informed of sound coaching principles

*        Know the rules and laws of the game, and be available to explain them to players and parents, as needed

*        Take victory modestly and defeat graciously

*        Attempt to win through superior skill, effort, and tactics

*        Always be fair, no matter what the cost

*        Adhere to the laws of the game

*        Conform to the rules established by the Club and League

Violations
Minor violations to the Code of Conduct should be resolved by the coaches and/or division coordinators. Serious or unresolved violations to the Code of Conduct should be reported to the Club's President. The President or his designee will conduct an appropriate review of the situation and present the findings and resolution to the Board of Directors. This resolution will be in accordance with the CYSA's Manual of Operations for protests and appeals. Serious misconduct can result in suspension from the Club. Laws of the Game are international standards set by FIFA. Rules are additional or modified standards established by CYSA South and the RSF Soccer Club.
